Comodo Dragon is a free web browser based from Chrome. It has enhanced stability, privacy, and security. Users can get it as part of Comodo’s PC security and antivirus software, or as a standalone browser. It can speed up browsing and enhance privacy by allowing it to access the Secured DNS server network of Comodo.
The browser uses the Chromium browser engine provided by Google. Because of this, users with a Google Account can also access their account from Comodo Dragon. They can avail of the many Chrome extras like extensions, plug-ins, and themes. Also, the Comodo Dragon enhances privacy and security. It uses Domain Validation technology to determine good SSL certificates. It also blocks download tracking.
After installing, Comodo Dragon allows the user to configure the web browser or his computer to use Comodo’s DNS servers. It performs extra checks to secure websites, and tells users if a digital certificate does not have sufficient strength. Also, it has on-demand site inspector to find out if a website has malicious code.
Comodo Dragon has its own updater. It disables or removes Google’s user tracking, Google-hosted error pages, automatic Google Search access, automatic search suggestions on the address bar, bug tracking system, Adobe Flash Player and built-in PDF viewer, H.264 codec, support for Google Native Client, Google Docs, Google Safe Browsing, and Google Translate.
If you are a Comodo user, you need to know that the browser monitors your time spent using it, inquiries about the revocation of certificate, and its operating system. You can choose the browser to use your information and track your activity. Comodo Dragon uses Google Analytics and cookies. The browser has ads.
But, the default style of this browser is bland. The good thing is that users can download Chrome themes. It may have conflicts with other applications, especially when importing or syncing data from a separate open browser.
Users who want enhanced privacy and security can try Comodo Dragon.
