HoneyView is a multi-format, high-performance image viewer that also recognizes EXIF and GPS information from photos and displays it on Google Maps. This program is available to all for free.
It also supports displaying images in compressed ZIP, RAR, and 7z files without extracting them.
After opening the application, we will be presented with a user interface consisting of a top toolbar and a bottom navigation module. Other functions or options can be invoked by right-clicking. Honeyview supports the opening of a full range of formats, while not forgetting the support of RAW format. Another great advantage is that the application can preview supported files directly in the archives without unpacking them.
From the viewpoint of browsing, there are different display modes, respectively. processing of opened images. You can immediately adjust the width, size of the window, or let the small pictures stretch. Also interesting is the parallel display mode of two images on one page.
If EXIF information (metadata) is included in the photo / picture, we can have it displayed. To do this, use the special button in the top bar. At the same time, the application can offer to display the location on the maps (Google Maps), as long as the photos have the relevant GPS information.
We also have a Slideshow mode with the ability to expressly set the transition times between images and transition effects. There is also the possibility to work with your favorite items (bookmarks) and we have a special feature of copying files to a separate folder with photos - where we can store our favorite pictures separately. We can adjust the path to the folder through the settings.
An important role in the browser also plays the bottom module, which at first glance resembles the control of multimedia players. You can open the image directly from the selected folder or select an image from the thumbnail menu.
Use the very handy slider to quickly navigate through the available images / photos in the folder. There are also zoom buttons, image rotation, and the bottom control panel can also be locked (like the top bar). Of course there are arrows to move forward / backward between pictures. Overall, we evaluate the image navigation system very positively.
