Image to PDF or XPS is a simple tool that does what the title suggests. This program was formerly known as JPEGtoPDF, though now it supports a more diverse range of image formats as input and supports XPS output in addition to PDF. The image formats supported as input are JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG, TIF, WMF, EMF, XPS, JP2 and J2K.
Simplicity is at the core of using this program. When you download the program from the website, you get a zip file. You just need to extract the executable and run it. No installation required. You can also run it from a removable flash drive or move it around as needed and it still works. When you open the program, the interface is straightforward and consists of just one screen. On the right side, you can see the list of all the image files that will be converted. Add the files that you need to be converted to the list. Then you need to set the parameters for conversion. For that, first select the units of measurement from inches, cm or mm. Then choose the output format option as PDF or XPS. Then choose the destination folder where you need to save the output files. You can also specify if you need a single PDF/XPS output file or if you need it to be split into multiple files. The next option allows you to either match the size of the page in your output to the input image or set your own custom size. The images can be shrunk or enlarged to match the custom size if you so desire. The next option allows you to specify margins for placement of the image in the pages of the output. You will specify the measurements in the units of measurement selected previously. The last option allows you to place the image at the centre of the page or at the top left corner of the page. Once you have set these parameters, you just have to click Save Output and the program goes to work.
The program requires Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 and Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 to work. The program also supports command line execution with the files to be converted as arguments. Thus, power users can call the program as a function in the command line.
