ProgDVB is an amazing tool that allows listening to Radio channels and watching Satellite TV on a PC. To get streaming directly from satellite, a combination of SAT-dish, DVB-PCI card along with hardware decoders, and x-86 compatible personal computer will be required. This software is capable to work with network broadcasting and it can also record Video or Audio streaming into a distinct digital-media format.
ProgTV and PogDVB are two unique user interfaces working together from a single folder with different settings, channels, etc. ProgTV is meant to be used with remote control (HTPC). There are more functions in ProgDVB but they are intended to be accessed with a mouse. Therefore, both the interfaces can be used very easily.
With ProgDVB, you can watch TV in High Definition (H.264/AVC) and with special PIP (picture-in-picture) function, you can view multiple videos/channels on a single screen. This software allows you to simultaneously record/playback numerous channels from a single or many devices. It allows to preview channels at very fast speed and it supports most of the DVB, ATSC and ISDB-T devices along with CAM and DiSEqC.
It supports all audio formats like AC3, MPEG, AAC, etc. and it features time shifting functionality with the help of RAM or disk buffer of limitless size. You will be allowed to shift the playback according to your preference. Its major features also include 10-band equalizer, recording of Radio channels and TV, and playback from files based on disk.
You can enable subtitles (image based, closed captions or teletext) on whichever channel you want. Its interface is completely user friendly and provides support for local languages also. You can also change the skins for GUI and OSD. This will certainly enhance the user experience.
