The free-of-charge Slimjet application is an Internet browser based on the "chassis" of the Chromium open source project. Google Chrome and Microsoft's new generation Edge are based on the same basis. We can take advantage of virtually all the basic features of the Chromium project, including extensions available from the Chrome web store. In addition, the application adds a relatively wide range of additional or "extra" features.
Among other things, it is a fully customizable toolbar, thanks to which we can adjust the controls, respectively. put the most used functions at the forefront. There are also autofill forms, integration with the Facebook social network (basically we can share our activities with one click), a streaming video downloader (watch out for copyrights), and the ability to translate whole web pages or selected texts expressly.
Through a special panel we can also display the weather forecast for the selected site, there is a proxy change help available, we can export the site to PDF format, if necessary, create and save a screenshot.
Also noteworthy is the possibility to set up automatic refresh of a given page (tab) at a certain time interval, we can also find means for blocking ads, globally stopping all GIF animations, and we can also block desktop notifications using this browser.
We can also more accurately remove browsing data, while protecting our privacy - cookies, cache or passwords, and login information.
We can also customize the New Tab page comprehensively. There is also a special accelerator for downloading data / files. The so-called Photo Salon offers the possibility of editing pictures / photos before sharing them online (on a social network). You can adjust the brightness, add a frame, our signature and so on.
The Slimjet application can also be downloaded as a so-called portable application that does not require installation. Just unpack the distribution archive to the selected folder on the disk. The application communicates with us in many languages and of course there is also a look through themes. Slimjet is also ready for synchronization between different devices.
