The WhosIP is nothing but an easy to use command line tool which allows one to easily search for the available data related to IP address. You can get various information related to the IP address like the IP address range, the in charge of the IP, country name or the state, contact information of the owner like address, fax number, cell phone number, email, IP address range, etc.
In addition, it is important to keep in mind that the WhosIP is a normal console application. So, in case if you don’t know on the method of using it or is finding it difficult then you can try out the IPNetInfo utility. It is similar to the WhosIP in functionality. The only difference that it has a user interface.
If you check out the version of the WhosIP, the first version is the Version 1.08. It was created in 2004 and had the countries files updated but some of the country names were missing. The next version was the Version 1.10.
